Biography

Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Daniel Albertson is a percussionist with a diverse background in performance and education. 

 

As a teacher, he has taught at Topeka West, Highland Park, Goddard-Eisenhower, and Buhler High Schools in Kansas and Salesianum School in Delaware. He has also performed for or with prominent ensembles such as the Quey Percussion Duo, Sandbox Percussion, Third Coast Percussion, Sō Percussion, Michael Burritt, the University of Delaware Graduate Percussion Group, the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, and the Delaware Winds. He currently serves as the Band Director for Ellinwood USD 355 in Ellinwood, Kansas and the adjunct Professor of Percussion at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas. He is also the Festival Coordinator for the Sunflower Music Festival in Topeka, Kansas.

 

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and a Masters degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Delaware. His primary teachers have been Steve Hatfield, Tom Morgan, Von Hansen, Gene Koshinski, and Tim Broscious.
